2/23

Today in class we watched three videos about Ancient Egypt. The first video was about the pyramids and what was inside of them and the different passage ways in them. Scientist have been studying these pyramids for a very long time and have found every room and every passage way. The pharaoh's wife's room was very small while the pharaoh's room was quite large.

The second video we watched today was about the mummification process. First you soak it in salt for 40 days. This mummy was named heraclities. the heart was removed from the body, but the lungs stayed. Second step was different oils, than thick resin, which stuck the strips of linen to the body. He was placed on a wooden board. Then more resin and more rappings bounded them together. Then a pouch wa splaced on the chest. Then a mummifies ivus was put on the abdomin. Then strips covered those two things than a pannel of himself was placed where his head would be than rapped him in linen. Then the rare treatment of red cloth on him. this means he was very special and would keep him safe.

In the last video, the guy pretty much just talked about the daily life of Egyptians. The Nile River was the best thing to ever happen for the Egyptians. It gave them water to drink, to bathe in, great soil to plant crops, etc. Farming was extremely easy for the Egyptians. Every July the river would flood and then after the flood the soil would be amazing for farming. There was an old kingdom (2649-2152 BCE), the middle kingdom (2040-1640 BCE), and the new kingdom (1550-1070 BCE)
